These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Pixel Fridge mobile application ("the app", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Pixel Fridge helps you track the food you buy, estimates how long it stays fresh, reminds you before it may spoil, and suggests recipes using what you have. Food identification, shelf-life estimates, recipe suggestions, and nutrition figures are generated by artificial intelligence.
All AI output in this app is an estimate, not a guarantee. Shelf-life dates are approximations; the AI may misidentify foods; recipes and nutrition figures are approximate. The app does not determine whether food is safe. Harmful bacteria may not change a food’s appearance, smell, or taste. Follow package instructions, recalls, safe storage guidance, allergy labels, and safe cooking temperatures. Never taste food to decide whether it is safe. If in doubt, discard it. See official food-safety guidance. We are not responsible for illness, allergic reactions, or other harm resulting from food you choose to consume.
You need an account to use the app. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). You can delete your account at any time from the app's Settings tab; deletion takes effect right away and is permanent (residual backup copies purge on the schedule described in the Privacy Policy).
The app offers a free tier with daily limits on AI features, and an optional auto-renewing Premium subscription (monthly or yearly) with higher limits. Where offered, new subscribers may receive a free trial (currently 7 days); you will not be charged if you cancel before the trial ends.
Payment is charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play account — we never see or store your card details. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings; deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies — we cannot issue refunds directly.
Prices are shown in the app before you subscribe and may change; any change applies only to future renewal periods, and you will be notified as required by the relevant store.
Daily limits exist to keep AI costs sustainable. You agree not to abuse the service — including attempting to circumvent limits, reverse-engineer the app, disrupt our servers, or use the app for anything unlawful. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Photos you scan and the fridge data you save remain yours. You grant us the limited right to process them solely to provide the app's features (for example, sending a photo to our AI provider to identify foods). We do not store your photos; see the Privacy Policy for details.
The app, including its design, artwork, mascot, and code, is owned by us and protected by copyright and other laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our branding, and you may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the app except as permitted by law.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output will be accurate.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose (or US $10 if you paid nothing). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
We may update the app and these Terms over time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new effective date and, where appropriate, noted in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the app that is not subject to binding arbitration or a small-claims proceeding will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New York. Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights you have under the laws of your place of residence.
